#TopTenTuesday | 8th July 2025: Books I’d Like to Re-read #Top10Tuesday #bookblogger #bookish #amreading #TTT #BookTwitter #booktwt #BookX #BookSky #damppebbles

Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.

The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.

This week’s theme is Books I’d Like to Re-read (share either your favourite books that you enjoy re-reading or books that you’d like to read again! Submitted by Becky @ Becky’s Book Blog). I don’t tend to re-read books. It’s not something I would normally consider. However, I do remember there being a number of times in the past when I have commented in a review that I would re-read a book. Have I said that on ten different occasions though? Allow me to predict the future. No, no I have not. So this is going to take a lot of thought. I don’t want to go with a list of my favourite books as I’ve done that countless times as part of Top Ten Tuesday. Let’s see how this one turns out…

1. Blindsighted by Karin Slaughter
This book represents the entire Karin Slaughter back catalogue. I’ve approached this tricky theme by searching for the word ‘re-read’ on the blog. The first book that came up was Girl, Forgotten by Karin Slaughter where I said I would happily re-read Slaughter’s entire back catalogue (some of which I read over twenty years ago! Maybe that’s why I don’t mind the idea of re-reading this author!).

2. The Last Goodbye by Tim Weaver
I included this book in last week’s TTT post but that’s not going to stop me from using it again! This is the twelfth book in the David Raker series and the only book by this author I’ve read. I enjoyed it so much that I said in my review that I would like to start at the beginning of the series and work my way though, even perhaps re-reading this book – book twelve – when I get to it! Sort of counts…

3. One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke
This one is a lot simpler than the first two. I enjoyed it a lot and said I would happily re-read in the future. My favourite Lucy Clarke novel.

4. Rules for Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson
I loved this book, it’s one of my all-time favourite novels. I openly state in my review that I’m not a re-reader of books but I would happily while away an afternoon reading this book.

5. Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
The first thing I want to say here is that every year one of my most anticipated new books is whatever Riley Sager is releasing. I read Last Time I Lied almost straight off the back of Final Girls. Final Girls is one of my favourite books so I had really, really, REALLY high expectations of Last Time I Lied. Unrealistic expectations, some may say. Unsurprisingly, Last Time didn’t live up to those ridiculous expectations and I was really, really, REALLY hard on this book. I said in my review I should give it a re-read in the future, and I should. I feel I must! This book is NOT Final Girls, so why did I expect it to be?! 😬

6. A Suitable Lie by Michael J. Malone
This book is stunning! I loved it. A Suitable Lie was probably one of the first books I reviewed on the blog that I said I would re-read, breaking the habit of a lifetime! Which also means I’ve probably come to the end of searching for the word ‘re-read’ in the damppebbles archives! From here on in, these are books I have handpicked as ones I would like to revisit in the future. (I probably won’t mind you, I really don’t tend to re-read books 🤣)

7. All the Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker
I know I keep on about this book and I know I promised to not just turn this into a list of my favourite books and I know you’re seen this one multiple times before but this book…..! THIS. BOOK! It’s so layered and rich and I’m sure there are a hundred things I missed the first time. Would it be a different experience the second time around? I think so, and I think it would just improve upon the first (if that’s possible).

8. Come With Me by Ronald Malfi
As feared, this list is just turning into a list of my favourite books! However, this is one of those books that is an experience for the reader. It stayed with me after I had finished reading it. I still think about it often and get goosebumps. I read it in 2021! Absolutely haunting, it gets under the skin. Could it do that a second time with me knowing what was to come? I think it could.

9. Nasty Little Cuts by Tina Baker
Same as above with this book. I remember having a visceral reaction to Nasty Little Cuts. Gosh, it’s so good! My favourite book by Tina Baker. (Got a bit of a wedding band theme going on here as well with this book and A Suitable Lie. Must remember that in case a wedding theme comes up in the future!!)

10. Undone by Michael Kimball
I read this book for the first time many years ago. It was one of the first thrillers I remember reading and it got me interested in the genre (and look at me now!! 😂). I decided to seek it out a few years ago (not being able to remember the name of the book or the author, only a vague somewhat foggy memory of the plot!) and purchased a copy for my shelves. I think I should give it a re-read. My intention was always to re-read it at some point, see how I feel about it now. All I have to do is find my copy….

That wasn’t easy. And let’s face it, me re-reading any of these books – even the last one – is highly unlikely. BUT if I were to read any of them, it would be Undone, just so I could compare and contrast! And I do hope to return to the Grant County x Will Trent series at some point. Perhaps when I run out of new books to read….?

Have you read any of these books? Have you re-read any of them? Do you have a book you return to time and time again? Or are you more like me, once it’s been read that’s it, no return. Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.

So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!
